What is LLumar RN07 (RN07G SR CDF)?
RN07G SR CDF (often shortened to RN07) is a reflective, metallized solar film offered in a dark grey tone with LLumar’s CDF (Clear Distortion Free) adhesive. It’s manufactured to provide a pronounced one-way mirror effect in daylight, high outward reflectance to limit views into the interior while maintaining acceptable inward visibility when interior lighting is lower than exterior daylight. Performance metrics are measured to NFRC / EN standards and published in LLumar specification sheets.
One-Way Mirror & Reflective Design — How It Works
• Exterior reflectance (day): The sputtered/ metallized surface reflects a large portion of incoming visible and solar energy, producing a mirror-like exterior appearance during daylight and providing daytime privacy.|
• Interior appearance: RN07 is tuned to balance interior reflectance so occupants retain a view outwards, though interior visibility depends on relative light levels (interior darker than exterior yields the best “one-way” effect).
• CDF adhesive: The clear, distortion-free adhesive preserves optical clarity and reduces warping or haze over time.
Heat Rejection & Energy Benefits
RN07 delivers high total solar energy rejection (TSER) and reduces solar heat gain on clear glazing, which helps lower peak cooling loads and reduce air-conditioning energy use in hot climates. Published LLumar performance tables show RN07 with low visible light transmittance (VLT) and high TSER values consistent with reflective, high-heat-rejection films. This makes RN07 suitable for sun-facing facades and commercial glazing where heat, glare and daytime privacy are priorities.
Optics, Privacy & Daytime Appearance
• Daytime privacy: RN07’s mirror-like exterior provides strong daytime privacy, ideal for storefronts, meeting rooms, and ground-floor façades.
• Exterior aesthetic: Gives buildings a uniform, modern reflective exterior in dark grey tones.
•Interior light: Because RN07 has low VLT, interiors will be slightly darker; the film is best used where privacy and solar control outweigh the need for maximum daylight.
UV Protection & Interior Preservation
RN07 blocks >99% of UV radiation, helping prevent fading of furniture, flooring and artwork, a common specification reason across LLumar’s reflective series. This UV blocking is measured and reported in manufacturer datasheets.
CDF Adhesive & Long-Term Durability
The RN07 SR CDF variant uses LLumar’s CDF adhesive designed for optical clarity and long-term bond stability. Datasheets and LLumar technical literature emphasize scratch resistance, stable adhesion in sun-belt climates, and manufacturer warranty coverage when installed by authorised dealers.
